As a Senior Advisor in science and technology, Mark breaks down complex problems through critical inquiry, analysis, process design and automation. He applies LEAN & Six Sigma practices to build visibility into client operations and financial performance. He specializes in Dynamic Business Process Modeling to drive organizational efficiencies and cost savings through automation and optimization, and his methodology combines deep critical analysis with innovation and constant iteration. His experience in large consulting engagements spans the globe, and he has delivered complex design projects in a wide variety of industries. A scientist at heart, Mark consistently leaves his clients and partners more knowledgeable and confident in their continuous operational performance.

David Ruhlen

Drawing on his extensive experience in both business development and operations, David oversees our commitment to creating a truly meaningful, higher order experience for all stakeholders of Blue Monarch Management, adding inspiration and creativity to our brand and client engagement. He is fascinated by change and the possibilities of the future, and is intrigued by the interrelationships among organizations, society and the natural world. He applies an unrelenting focus on the “why” of Blue Monarch’s brand that ensures we remain true to our vision. A thoughtful and strategic thinker, David is a keen advocate of an exceptional customer experience in all of Blue Monarch’s interactions with its partners and clients.

Jeff Peterson

Chief Executive Officer

Bio:

Jeff Peterson is Blue Monarch Management’s Founder and CEO. He speaks professionally on topics related to business transformation, global supply chains, and transportation trends, teaches the Business Capstone course at SAIT, and Chairs the Board of Directors of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Alberta and The Board for the Kinsmen Club of Calgary Foundation.  He is a Mentor with the Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership.

As a practicing Certified Management Consultant specializing in strategy, ESG, and supply chain management, Jeff’s current engagements focus on regional economic development through supply chain and innovation strategies,  and several other transformation projects. Jeff is committed to collaborative business practices and business ethics and is recognized for building relationships, capacity, and empowerment. He has an MBA and BComm from the University of Calgary, is certified in Asset Management and Change Management, and holds a Certified Management Consulting designation.

Erin Melnychuk

Bio:

Erin will advance these outcomes by helping our clients facilitate their change journeys to create a more inclusive and sustainable world where people, communities, and the planet flourish – today, and for generations to come.

Erin has been a social economy leader in Alberta for over 20 years. She specializes in social economy development, social impact, social enterprise, social innovation, and systems change navigation. She works with the private sector, non-profit sector, and with communities/ business districts/economic regions.

Erin graduated from Simon Fraser University’s Community Economic Development program. She Is on the Board of Directors with the Women’s Economic Council of Canada. She also teaches entrepreneurship at Mount Royal University and with the Canadian Legacy Project in the Veteran’s Business Bootcamp.

Justin Waghray

Bio:

Justin Waghray brings over a decade of knowledge working with high-growth start-ups in various countries around the world. His experience includes founding and operating a medical device start-up which was accepted into the 2012/2013 London Business School Incubator Programme/Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He has held positions in business development and capital development within the financial data, fintech, and digital marketing industries. Justin holds a BSc in Geomatics Engineering (Biomedical specialization) and a BA in Humanities (German specialization) from the University of Calgary and an MSc in Management from London Business School. Also, he is an active Ironman triathlete, lover of Alberta skiing, Roman history buff, capable speaker of German, French, and Spanish, and voracious reader averaging one book per week.
